Have you seen sites offering data entry jobs that ask you to pay a fee before you can
do the job?
They claim you can earn hundreds of dollars each week doing this simple work. These "jobs" are
sometimes called email processing or home typing jobs as well. They usually give the impression
that the work you will be doing is mostly data entry. The "data entry" usually involves typing
ads all over the internet.
You may be advertising something like a list of companies that hire home workers (these lists are
usually really outdated and not worth it) or advertising the same website that you joined. The
only way you can earn ANY money is when someone purchases the product you advertised or signs
up to the same site you joined using your link.
Another variation of these jobs involves pay-per-click advertising. After you pay the fee, you
are told to sign up as an affiliate for various online programs and then to use pay per click
advertising to sell these products. This form of advertising can get quite expensive. Anyone
can sell products like this, without paying a fee to find out about it. Do some research if
this interests you.
There are legitimate data entry jobs online. There are also a LOT of people that want these jobs. The
ones that land these jobs are usually those with previous experience and/or professional resumes.
Some say that your resume should be fine-tuned for each job that you apply for.
There are a number of legitimate companies that offer data entry jobs, you can find some on the
clerical jobs page, or just click here
to go there.
You will not be asked to pay a fee for a legitimate job.
A Customer Service Representative (CSR) job also requires data entry skills, as well as the ability to
be on the phone and internet at the same time. If you are interested in this type of work, please
see the Customer Service
section.
