Hi, I'm new to this. So alot of the stuff I'm reading I don't quite understand. I just started selling kits for an already established website. My question is do I still need to write articles or would traffic be enough.

If you're doing well selling kits and making money, I wouldn't worry about writing articles. Now if you weren't making money and not getting traffic, then you may want to consider article writing. That is just one way of getting traffic to your site and getting people to buy because there are plenty of other methods of promoting.

You should look out for all options, as traffic coming from single source may not convert into a sell, so explore all types of web promotion including article writing and others.

To me backlinks are a huge reason to write articles. Google can be very fickle, having backlinks can help you stay on it's radar.

As usual, I agree with GT. Article marketing isn't just about getting backlinks, it is about branding yourself as an authority on your field of business. If you are writing useful information articles about your product, this generates trust in your readers and they will be more likely to buy from you.

If your are doing well with current work, why bother for article writing. Article writing is a method to increase rank and traffic. Every webmaster should find the best way to achieve their target. It will differ for every site. If your current strategy is working for you continue it.

A press release is an official document for the press/media about a specific and significant news about a company. It can be hiring a new manager, a merger, a takeover of another company, launch of a new product, etc.
Press release is also quite beneficial as it attracts a lot of traffic because of the nature of its writing as it is meant to break a new information.

Honestly, it depends on what market your in and how much competition. If you're any good at SEO, you can use those strategies to write less articles and use SEO tactics to position them high in the search engine rankings for whatever keywords you're targeting.

If you're not familiar with SEO, I would get familiar. Until then, just crank out a few articles here and there for steady traffic.
