Description Receives direction from the Manager, Supervisor, Systems and Quality Assurance Specialist in the Medical Transpiration Department. Works cooperatively with physicians and allied health staff to provide support that will afford the most optimal use of resources and time. Maintains an effective working relationship with a variety of personnel at varied levels of authority and in varied departments.Interpret and transcribe dictation in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services. Demonstrates commitment to quality and excellence with internal and external customers. Requires independent thinking and action necessary to provide competent and professional support to meet the needs of patients, physicians and other health care providers, administrators, co-workers, and others.

Transcription Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of recent multi-specialty medical transcription experience required. Successful completion of a Mayo medical transcription test required. Strong knowledge of computers, work processing software, and dictation/transcription equipment. Well developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles. Excellent eye/hand coordination and auditory capacity. Training period in office; telecommuting position after successful completion of training. Must reside in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
